I am thrilled to announce to Deaf Colorado Springs community this opportunity downtown to learn identification & care of native plants appropriate to Colorado’s climate along with basic gardening maintenance, including irrigation skills.
This learn-in-ASL opportunity is possible thru a grant involving Broadmoor Garden Club, The McAllister’s House Museum, Anna’s Therapeutic Garden, CSDB &/ the greater Deaf community.
Whether you are a student or home-owner, gardening hobbyist, or career aspirational*, we welcome anyone who wants to learn plants & landscaping skills in ASL. We’ll be volunteering alongside the BGC in maintaining and adding to an already established natives plants flowerbed at the MHM’s property. It’s all light work, using no motor equipment.
This is a small garden, so RSVP to me at butterflies@annastherapeuticgarden.com – also because dates & times are subject to last-minute changes (usually cuz– the weather) and we’d need to be able to contact you.
Excited yet? I am. Many hands makes light work. Looking forward to seeing you downtown at the McAllister’s.

*Colorado passed a law requiring native plants be used in all their landscaping as well on as those funded by them, increasing the demand for more gardeners & landscaper who knows native plants.
